What is the perfect present for mother?

It is often a difficult task for us to decide on a gift for someone and particularly so for those whom we love the most and want them to feel really happy about the gift that has been presented.

The gifts we present to our mothers on Mother's Day are a means to show our gratefulness towards her, but what about the birthday? It is not the quality and cost of the gift that matter, but the sentiment the gift is given with. So it really is not a tedious task to get along with. Even a piece of paper with a statement "I Love You Mom" is equally precious as gem jewelry to mothers.

I still find myself in a big bewilderment in selecting a perfect present for my beloved Mama. A couple of days ago, friend gave some suggestions regarding gift ideas for Mom's birthday. He is always good in selecting a right present. He said "you probably can select one of these top five gifts to please your mom."

What are they? Let's see...

1/ Jewelry: Any jewelry facet forms an appropriate gift for a lady, young or old, as jewelry is one of the most liked possessions of women. (Sorry Mama, no jewelry this year, i can't afford to buy now, it might be reserved to few years later, sigh~!!)

2/ Gift Basket: This form an excellent present if you don't quite understand what to pick for your mom. You can prepare a basket with flowers, body lotion, hand cream, chocolates, etc. Your mother is sure to find something in the basket that will please her. (Well, such a good idea, can think about it, the best is from Body Shop, no? But i like the Skin Food better. Opps... now only i remembered, i forgot to give Mama a bottle of hand & body lotion which she requested from me for so long. So sorry my dear...)


3/ Cards & Flowers: Be it a handmade card or a ready one, cards are almost always liked by everyone, particularly so when received from the most beloved passession of a mother - her children. Friend said the fragrance of flowers adds to the pleasance of the ambience. (Card can be considered, but flowers have to think twice. I'm never a romantic person, haiks...)

4/ Perfume: You can never go wrong with perfumes for all women love to smell good. Perfumes are an instant hit for ladies of all age groups. If your mom is particular about personal hygiene, you probably can even add toiletries. (Mama just got herself a bottle of Polo Ralph Lauren few months ago in airport. I don't mind to have it as many as i can, but Mama would only likes to have one or two, she said is too wasted to have so many.)

5/ Home Decor: An ideal gift for a mother is to receive home decor from children or even a household item. It reveals your responsible attitude towards home. Bowls, candle holders and crystal giftware are nice presents for mothers. (Should i think of this? I think no.)

So what are the best presents? Do you have any idea? Well, it doesn't have to be expensive. Often the simplest things are most appreciated.

Whatever gift we present to our mother just remember, it is our LOVE that she really wants. However, we present it to her.
