Funny Freak

Let's share some funny things happened in my office today.

There was a guy walked into our branch and asking for any vacancy for translator. He bumped into one of my colleagues Cherrie at the branch, and explained to her the purpose of coming here. Well, since Cherrie knows that i'm currently looking for an English Editor, so she gave me a call and told me about this. I told her to ask the guy to drop me a resume, so that i could go through it and see if he is suitable for this position. But the funny thing is the guy came without a resume and requested to meet me personally. Cherrie had no option but to call me for help.

I said “You just pass the phone to him, i will talk to him directly.”

She then answered “But he was reluctant... so how? Do you mind to come down and talk to him?”

“Okok.. i'm coming.” I said. (Gosh.. why did i need to go all the way down to the branch and entertain him? Geeeezzz...)

I greeted him and introduced myself very friendly with a smile on my face. The guy told me that he had came across this advertisement about the vacancy on jobstreet, and he would like to apply for this particular position. I talked to him and said “Well, maybe you can send me your resume. And i will come back to you ASAP if you have been short-listed.” Damn, the funny freak just refused to give me his resume, but asked me ton of questions.

He told me that his capability might beyond the position that he applied, and probably he will need to walk around our office and check out the environment. My goodness, i was so gonna slap him. Wasting my time to entertain him. So annoying!! Ok, i roughly briefed him the responsibilities of this position, but he some more demanded to meet my boss which is the Marketing Director of this company.

Do you think the top management will meet you so easily? If you think you are capable enough, why not you just go for a higher position instead?

My concern was if you are interested in this position, you will just need to pass me the resume that's all. I will definitely feedback to you if you are suitable. Not like talking non-stop to me by telling me how good you are. I was not here to conduct an interview with you before knowing all your details.

I found that the freak was driving me insane enough. Ended up, i just threw him a piece of job application form and ask him to fill in. But i wonder why there are person funny like this on earth?
