Day by Day Journal - Day 4

Today is the 4th day of our HK trip. We had only one place to go today in our itinerary, which is the Disneyland. After we had our breakfast at the hotel, we hopped into the train and headed to Hong Hum station.

We went to Disneyland. It's the smallest in the world, but still.. it's nothing short of spectacular.

The tickets!! HK$350 for each person.

Well okay, let's begin our fantasy journey.

The staff will open up our bags and check what's inside. As informed, we are not allowed to bring foods in.

There are basically 4 different sections in the Disneyland. The Main Street USA, Tomorrow Land, Fantasy Land and Adventure Land.

We saw and wanted to ride this, but they don't take passengers. The weather was really hot and we were getting tired.

At that time, we saw this... LOL, we can take the train.

There's nothing much at the Main Street USA, some souvenir shops, bakery and etc. Therefore, we decided to explore these shop later.

Then we proceed to the Tomorrow Land. What's inside?

The Stitch Encounter. It's a real-time CG Stitch being mo-capped from someone behind the scenes somewhere. You are able to interact with Stitch through the big screen. It was really cute and funny!

Festival of The Lion King in Adventure Land. A 30 minutes highlights version of Broadway's The Lion King. The song and dialogue were in english, but there were two monkey characters who translated the story into cantonese.

It was already almost 3pm after we watched the show. We were so hungry and we decided to have our lunch somewhere near Tarzan's house. There it goes... a plate of Char Siew Rice, costs HK$50.

Later on, we proceed to the other show. The Golden Mickeys was based on the Oscars, and was essentially a best hits of Disney songs. This time Mickey and Minnie spoke only cantonese, but the songs were still in english. The show is about 30 minutes. It was amazing!! I love this.

So here we are, back in the hot sun.

And this... in the The Fantasy Land. One of Disneyland's attractions – It's a Small World. Nice or not?

And more....

One thing really nice is the air-con was super cold. Outside hot weather, inside cold and nice and the best thing is, you don't even need to walk, hehe!!

After taking pictures, we went to see the 3D show. The Mickey's Philharmagic Orchestra is a 3D experience that incorporates all your favourite Disney songs and characters with 3D imagery popping out of the screen, and splashes of water and other surprises. Fantastic!!

There were really a lot of people there, and everywhere we go we have to queue. But we noticed some people do not need to queue, they have some kind of pass which they will be allowed to enter without queuing. After surveying and asking the cast member there, we found out that there's something called fast pass. You get your fast pass and you can avoid the queues. Damn we were so stupid!!

It was already 6pm+ when we were done with the Fantasy Land. We still need to wait for another half an hour to watch the fireworks. We decided to go back to the main street and have shopping at the souvenir shop.

The fireworks started at 7pm sharp, and they include not just fireworks but a choreographed sound and light show played out upon Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Personally, i love and appreciate Disney stuff very much, especially the older Disney cartoons. Somehow, i find it that very few people share my passion for Disney, or have similar feelings as i do towards it. Of course, there's nothing wrong with going to Disneyland just to have fun and excitement. But for me, i would prefer to think that it's more than that..

We visited most of the performances. Of course, the final “Disney in the Stars” fireworks display was as magical as ever.

Back at hotel. This time, we were booked in Lai Chi Kok Road, Mongkok at Metro Park Hotel. The hotel was not too bad.

We paid for the location....

This will be the last night in HK, therefore we did not want to waste any of our time. We had a quick dinner in the casual Vietnamese restaurant nearby the hotel.

We walked to the Ladies' Market for some last minute shopping. One of the most popular street markets in HK.

Some said Ladies' Market is a must visit destination with an eye for bargain priced clothing, bags, accessories, toys, cosmetics and etc. I found there's nothing so special over there, i still prefer those shops along the roadside.

However the street food like curry fish ball, octopus ball, as well as mini pancake worth a try.

Mongkok is a place where i can spend a few days there and would never be bored.
